Inspiring belief in a better tomorrow. Equipping kids with the tools to build it.

HacKIDemia a big hit at the Science Centre!

Author: William Hoi

Third edition of ‘HacKIDemia hack!shop’’ was a success that drew close to 80 kids and their parents to the Science Centre Singapore.

There were soldering irons burning out, printers being torn apart, motors all over the place, inks spilled on tables and bits of papers all over the floor. Sound like a nightmare for cleaners but in fact, just another morning of HacKIDemia -all in the name of science, technology and engineering. It was certainly an energizing sight to see the Eco lab bursting with a hive of activity. We had kids as young as 5-year olds learning to build breadboard circuits, soldering, dismantling discarded printers and getting to know how 3D printer and Arduino works. Thanks to our friends and collaborators from Inkbox3D, Tinker Tanker, E.M.E and volunteers from the Singapore University of Technology & Design (SUTD) and Singapore Academy of Young Engineers & Scientist (SAYES) and not forgetting the Science Centre Singapore, we had so much fun and we thought we will let the pictures and video speaks for itself. We will be working with different partners on future HacKIDemia events in November, so stay tuned.
