This week we participated in a beautiful event organized by Google at their office in Paris called "Un temps d'avance" (which means "One step ahead")
The main goal of this event was to expose women to tech innovations and create a platform of collaboration for women in tech.
The minister of gender equality and many French women CEOs were present at the event and inspired the young generation with very powerful stories and examples.
Main message: there are many opportunities in the future! The possibilities are open for everyone and women should not be afraid to create new paths and explore trailer blazer carriers in the tech world.
HacKIDemia was present at the demo room and showed all participants that this form of empowerment starts early-on and that is very easy to get girls interested in science, tech and design through hands-on workshops.
We showed the mothers how they could make music at home with fruits and most of the objects lying around the house, how they could program together with their children a video game or an air monitoring station, how they can make circuits with dough and how to build a microscope from an old webcam.
For a moment all participants forgot about their elegant outfits and start playing just like their children would have done. Many of the participants also joined us together with their children for the Kids Hackathon that took place the day after @IESA multimedia school in Paris.
Have a look at our time-lapse from the event here and share the joy with other less privileged parents and children by contributing to our first crowdfunding. campaign
